| i am up at 230 am currently trying to decide if this application is worth it...i have to write a 1500 word policy recommendation and a 1000 word why i want to apply personal statement...the personal statement is easily cobbled together from previous such essays also cobbled together from something else hahaha...but this policy statement...i have no familiarity with nyc politics, which leads me to wonder if its even worthwhile to do this program. im not from ny...i dont intend to stay in ny long term...why would i bother working in city government for a year? but i pestered three recommenders to no end and finalged out three recommendations and theoretically my transcript should be on the way to my mail box
anyway...i have discovered that applications are super annoying and everyone has their own annoying little specifications whether its that they want two copies of everything or *four* or if they want things paperclipped rather than stapled or everything in one packet sent together or if they want your recommenders to make three copies of everything and then sign the seal of the envelope in case i would be so tempted to forge my own recommendation
seriously...its the internet age! submit that sucker online! hahahaha
alright back to this damned policy recommendation...i may or may not have a THESIS i need to be working on *chuckles*

| waiting for the cab to come whisk me away to the airport =)
this semester has been rather unique...spent more time by myself than i have any other semester, first mono, then catching two colds in a row, all intermixed with my beloved thesis
ive been neglecting friends, itasa, other classes, other activities, eating regular meals *grins*
i think id go crazy tho if roomie ingy wasnt also thesis writing...altho as a result we rarely see each other; she in countway, me in govdocs
the one plus (and perhaps negative) is that ive been watching a ton of telly on the internet. its the only way to rock it through the microfiche...and now ive developed a bad habit of having tv running in the background all the time when im doing work. *chuckles*
i think ill be moving down to the basement, tho, post-break.
cautionary note: ill be hard to find come january/february...natch, ill be ridiculously easy to find, cuz ill be attached to my computer working the whole time...but post march 9th i cant wait to see everyone! =)
must pack up computer and shimmy down to the cab. yay california!

| i have the world's most awesome thesis advisor
also, i have the kiss of death with technology...so what should happen the night before my first draft of my thesis chapter is due? possibly could my computer spontaneously shut down? possibly could my computer stop turning on? possibly could my motherboard be broken...again? after squaring away business with dell tech help (the guy last night was awesome) it was down to the computer lab in kirkland basement frantically finishing my chapter (knowing my "special gift" with technology, i had the foresight to email my chapter to myself...though not my notes...)
at any rate apparently it is one year today when my motherboard last broke...happy anniversary to me and my computer =)
